How to Maintain Home Appliances

We all love to decorate and arrange our things at home. We purchase different decorations to make our home more beautiful and attractive for our visitors. Not only that, we also buy several appliances we need and the ones we just like to show. But then, there are times when we are lazy to clean the appliances we have and we have barely had time to maintain some of our appliances. This is not a good thing as our appliance can get damaged, look old or even cause an accident if not maintained properly. Maintaining your appliances is easy if you know the simple tips to follow to make sure your appliances are in good condition and can last a lifetime. There are several appliances that we have in the house and the most common are the refrigerator, the microwave, the cooker or the ceramic hob, the dishwasher and the washing machine or dryer. Since these appliances differ in function, they also differ in the way they are cleaned. Some appliances are too delicate and more difficult to clean, while others are easy to clean and maintain.

- Refrigerators: When cleaning refrigerators, be sure to unplug them first, then close the knob, remove everything inside and then start cleaning the shelves and racks. You can remove the baskets and wash them with soap and water just like you would for cleaning dishes. When cleaning the inside of the refrigerator, use a sponge or soft cloth and remove the dirt completely. - Washing machine or dryer - Use soap and water to clean the outside of the microwave and use a damp cloth to clean and remove dirt from the inside.

- Microwave: Make sure you unplug the plug first and then use the dish soap to clean the tray or plate. To get rid of the bad smell, you can use vinegar or lemon, put it in a microwave-safe glass, turn on the microwave and let it sit for about 5 minutes and then remove it.

- Dishwashers: The secret to maintaining a dishwasher is to use it regularly so you don't have to clean it all the time. Once a week, check the inside of the dishwasher and make sure there is no debris or dirt that could clog the holes and prevent water from flowing freely. You can also use a cloth to clean the outer surface and edges. - TV or computer - Use a paper towel or soft cloth to clean the surface and be sure to unplug before cleaning. For plasma televisions, be sure to use a soft cloth. - Kitchen - Clean up spills with baking soda and water and wipe the walls with a damp cloth.

In general, appliances need to be cleaned at least once a week to make sure they are working properly. You should also check your outlets and if your appliance needs repair, call a repairer or qualified electrician. Do not attempt to repair it yourself, as this may further damage the device. Give yourself time to clean your appliances so they last a long time and you don't have to buy new appliances often.
